Digital Tools of the Eurpean Schools
The European Schools use two main digital tools, established by the Office of the Secretary-General (OSG), to carry out different tasks and serve different purposes:
SMS – https://sms.eursc.eu
The School Management System (SMS) is the school management platform used by the European Schools. It contains records relating to students, families, teaching staff and administrative staff. Each member of a family has their own individual user account.
This platform is available in English only, and it is not possible to change the language.
When a family accesses the platform for the first time, they must review and set their data protection consents. Once this has been completed, the platform provides the following information for each student associated with the account:
- Overview: Main screen providing key information such as messages sent by the School, data protection consents and student absences.
- Course Diary: Information relating to each subject, which can be entered and managed by teaching staff.
- Graded Exercises: Information concerning homework and assessed examinations. This information can be entered by teaching staff.
- Schedule: Student timetable.
- Schedule PT: This section is used to request meetings with teaching staff during the specific periods established by the School.
- Term Report: Student reports in PDF format.
All new families, parents and legal guardians joining the European School of Alicante receive their credentials by email on the first day of the school year. Please note that this email may be delivered to the spam or junk mail folder. The sender of this email is the SMS platform itself: noreply@myschoolmanagement.com.
Students at the School will have access to the SMS platform from the fourth year of secondary education (S4), using their Microsoft 365 credentials.
If the SMS credentials have not been received, or if the password has been forgotten, a new password can be requested by sending an email, providing the necessary identification details, to:
Microsoft 365 - https://portal.office.com
The Microsoft 365 platform, formerly known as Office 365, consists of a suite of tools and services, including:
- Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Email: Email accounts for students and School staff.
- OneDrive: Cloud storage for data and files.
- Teams: Communication and collaboration platform for students and teaching staff.
Microsoft 365 credentials are generated and sent by email before the start of classes to new families from the third year of Primary School (P3). The sender of this email is: es-account-details@eursc.eu
Credentials are only issued when students reach P3 or when they join the School as new students and are enrolen from P3.
The first time students access Microsoft 365, the platform will require them to create a new password. This password must be kept secure by the student or, where appropriate, by their family. For security reasons, passwords expire twice during the school year and must therefore be changed.
If the Microsoft 365 credentials have not been received or have been forgotten, a new password can be requested by sending an email, providing the necessary identification details and identifying the student concerned, to:
As Microsoft 365 is a widely used platform, both personally and professionally, and in order to prevent accounts from interfering with other accounts already used by the family, the following practices are recommended:
- Use different internet browsers for each account, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.
- Use private browsing or incognito mode.
- Open each account using different user profiles on the same computer.
After school holidays or at the beginning of each school year, it is common for users to have forgotten their username and/or password for either SMS or Microsoft 365. This is particularly common among younger students or students moving from Primary to Secondary School.
During the first days of the school year, passwords can be reset upon direct request from students to their educational advisers or teachers, who will forward the request to the ICT Department.
In the event of a need or urgency, please use the relevant email addresses indicated above. For convenience, these are listed again below:
